Photo contest Many happy returns

We invite you to participate in the photo contest called Many happy returns

Airports are an attractive environment for a wide variety of birds, which is unfortunately a potential threat to aviation security. Aerodrom Ljubljana, which operates Ljubljana Jožeta Pučnika airport, is continuously monitoring the presence of birds on the runway and the operations area, thus preventing them of causing a security threat.

This is obligated by international and national law. The company could use rough ways to get rid of birds, but since that's not in accordance with the environmental policy of the company, the company has teamed up with the Foundation society of knowledge society and values of nature and which in turn will lead to an effective long-term and sustainable approach of this problem.

In a efford to draw public attention to the activity of the Aerodrom Ljubljana and partners (Foundation society of knowledge society and values of nature, Triglav group and Slovenia Control), specillay with new approaches that does not physically destroy birds, which a potential cause of accidents, we decided to carry out photo contest. The main focus of the contest are birds and aircrafts. As birds are returning to their nests from southern places in spring many dangers are awaiting them, we want as many feathered friends find their way back as we want aircrafts to land safely at the airport.

Photographing the area outside area of the airport fence will be held from 18 April to 12 May, with a special photo session inside the airport's fence on 9 May (signed application form need to be send until 8 May).

The deadline for the application to participate in the extended photo contest is 25 July 2014 (participants will receive notice of registration till 1 August), the conditions and rules for participation are at the link below.

On Tuesday, 4. 11. 2014, at 12.00 we invite you to the closing event of the Many happy returns project, which will be celebrated with the opening of photo contest exhibition. Meetting point is the lobby of passanger terminal of Ljubljana Jožeta Pučnika Airport.

Since the event will be held in a restricted area you must confirm your participation at . A valid photo ID is required at the event.
